LOS ANGELES -- After much anticipation, the Apple Watch is finally available. FOX 4’s tech guy Rich Demuro already has it on his wrist in today`s Tech Report.
The Apple Watch is the company`s first new product line in five years. Apple unveiled it back in September, but Friday is the first day you can actually get your hands on one - if you pre-ordered it.
There`s a lot riding on Apple Watch, the company`s first new product line since the iPad. Earlier this year we attended Apple`s announcement in San Francisco and had a chance to take a look at the device
“So of course I had to try it on. This is the Apple Watch edition that starts at $10,000,” Demuro said at the event.
Most people aren`t spending that much. According to Slice Intelligence, which analyzed pre-order receipts, the most popular model is the least expensive sport. Those buyers spent an average of $382, while those who ordered the mid-range Apple Watch spent about $707.
How about the apps? Yahoo is showing off what news, sports and weather will look like on your wrist; Yelp will have ratings at your fingertips. There will also be apps for Target, Instagram, American Airlines and many others at launch.
