Shotspotter helps KCMO police discover drive-by shooting

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- KCMO police are investigating a drive-by shooting early Friday morning that they discovered via shotspotter, which is a microphone system that places microphones on the top of building in troubled areas.

The shooting happened before 2 a.m. near 41st and Wabash.

Police said a car drove by and shot a man twice. The man was hit in the arm and buttocks.

The victim was transported to the hospital and is being treated for serious injuries.

Police said they did not have a description of the suspect of the vehicle.
