WELLINGTON, Fla. — A Florida landscaper is accused of purposely running over nine baby ducks with his lawnmower.

According to the Sun Sentinel and the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office,  homeowner Boyd Jentzch says he, his wife and their seven-year-old son were watching as Jason Falbo, 24, swerved his blades over the ducklings and mutilated them.

Falbo was arrested and charged with nine counts of animal cruelty. He is being held at the Palm Beach County Jail on $27,000 bail on the animal cruelty charges. He told police it was an accident.

Jentzch and his wife, Laura Gontchar say that’s not how it looked from their perspective. They say their family had been watching and enjoying the ducks ever since they hatched a few days before. They were watching out their patio window when suddenly “a flurry of feathers, bones and small beaks went flying in the air.

“He asked me, ‘Is everybody out there like this?'” Jentzsch said.
