KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- According to a recent Wall Street Journal article, Little League is dying, but that's not the case in Kansas City.

Fox 4 spoke to the North Kansas City Parks and Recreation Department, and a representative said since last season, interest has grown in Little League. The spokesperson told FOX 4 that interest has increased so much that they've had to add eight teams to the league. Parents say the passion of the players has increased as well.

Coach Greg Owen says his players have latched onto the Royals success, and it's become a success for baseball in the metro.

"It's all about enjoying the game, and the Royals have brought this enjoyment back to Kansas City and also back to baseball," said Owen.
