Metro artist’s work to get international exposure at Spanish competition

LEE’S SUMMIT, Mo. -- A metro artist is making a big name for herself. One of her pieces will soon be on display at a Barcelona, Spain museum, and a new piece could soon be on its way.

Lee's Summit artist Tina Garrett let the public view "String of Pearls" on Friday afternoon. The viewing could be the last time anyone in America gets to see the beautiful work.

The piece has been selected as a finalist in Barcelona's Figurativas 2015 competition. "String of Pearls" will leave Lee's Summit later this month to be looked over by judges. If it wins, the work could be on display later this year in Barcelona alongside "City Blues," which one the 2015 ARC Salon Purchase Prize.
