SARASOTA, Fla. — A Florida woman who provided key information to federal authorities prior to a raid at former Subway spokesman Jared Fogle’s Indiana home on Tuesday has revealed one of the comments Fogle allegedly made during multiple conversations.

The Florida woman, who asked not to be identified, told WWSB earlier this week that she’s had numerous conversations with Fogle. Federal authorities confirmed to WXIN the woman provided key information that led to Tuesday’s raid.

The woman originally said she wouldn’t elaborate on what was discussed during conversations with Fogle, but she did say that he told her numerous times that “middle school girls are hot,” according to WWSB. The woman also said Fogle would often visit schools in Sarasota County.

The woman said Fogle made several other inappropriate comments, but she declined to go into detail.

“They weren’t jokes. They were very serious,” the woman said.

The comments alarmed her so much that she contacted authorities. She later wore a wire and recorded phone conversations with Fogle.

Fogle’s attorney, Ron Elberger, told WXIN there is no basis to the woman’s statements.

“It is an unrealistic fabrication with no credibility,” he said in a statement. “If you think about it, she says her original statement was more than ten years ago. If any part of it was true, it would have been raised. It never happened.”

On Tuesday, federal and state authorities raided Fogle’s home in connection with a child pornography investigation. In April, Russell Taylor, the former director of Fogle’s Jared Foundation, was arrested following a child pornography investigation.

Fogle has not been arrested or charged following the raid. Subway announced that it had suspended its relationship with Fogle once word of the raid broke.
