KANSAS CITY, Kan. — Authorities are asking for the public's help in locating a teenage suspect charged in the murder of a Kansas City, Kansas, man.
Prosecutors on Friday charged Lloyd Vincent IV, 16, with first-degree murder in juvenile court in connection to the June 22 shooting death of 21-year-old Lonnie Mitchell III at a home in the 1900 block of 3rd Street.
Mitchell's family told FOX 4 they are relieved to learn of the charges, but wish the suspect was in police custody.
"I just want you to turn yourself in that's all I want," said Tracy Taylor, the victim's mother. "It is painful, it's hurtful, I wish they could feel the same pain that I feel."
Authorities say that Vincent is still at large, and is considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with information as to his whereabouts is asked to call the TIPS Hotline at (816) 474-TIPS.
