KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- A teenager is expected to survive after a car him near Kauffman Stadium Friday night.

The accident happened at 40th Terrace and Blue Ridge Cutoff.

Police say the 17-year-old has non-life threatening injuries. Witnesses who were at a nearby Taco Bell says it looks like the teen suffered some broken ribs and a swollen ankle.

Witnesses described the environment as crazy after the Royals game and say the accident could have been avoided.

“It would have been nice if people would wait and go up to the cross walk,” witness Riley Horton said. “There was a cross walk 25 feet from him. If people take a little more consideration and think before they act, we might be able to avoid this next time around or future games.”

The boys who saw the crash happen say they think an off-duty EMT and off-duty nurse nearby came to help the boy after he was hit.
