Sedalia Police investigate a murder

Sedalia, Mo. — Police are investigating the shooting death of 16-year-old, Andrew Meyers.  Officers were dispatched to W. Cooper and S. Missouri after several 911 calls reported someone had been shot.

When officers arrived they found the young man suffering from a gunshot wound lying in the street.  Officers assisted the victim until Pettis County Ambulance District units arrived. Meyers was taken to Bothwell Regional Health Center where he underwent treatment for his injuries but later died from the injuries sustained in the shooting.

Police served a search warrant on a nearby house where Meyers had been prior to being shot.  Officers discovered a significant number of narcotic trafficking items along with numerous illegal firearms.
