KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Turns out one of the hippest districts in the country is right here in the metro.

Thrillist named each state's "Brooklyn;” basically that means where the hipsters are.

Writers say Westport is the spot in Missouri and praised the area for the different kind of locally-owned experiences you can have, naming Dave’s Stagecoach and Kelly's for their classic bar experiences and Julep for its hand-crafted cocktails.

Writers also praised the area for locally owned shops like Mills Record Company and Arizona Trading Company.

Thrillist named Delano in Wichita as the “Brooklyn” of Kansas.
