Keep the kitchen cool and make a turkey roll-up for lunch

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – It’s hot outside and the last thing you want to do it heat up your house by turning on the oven. Mary Boetcher visited FOX 4 to share a few of her favorite recipes that will help fill your belly and keep the kitchen cool.

Turkey roll-up

Ingredients:
6” tortillas
Turkey or chicken deli meat or shredded meat of your choice
Reduced fat cream cheese or hummus

Directions:

  • Spread a thin layer of cream cheese onto the tortilla
  • Layer with deli meat and sprinkle with cream cheese
  • Roll up and eat

Strawberry dessert

Ingredients:
whole strawberries
yogurt (flavor of your choice)

Directions: 

  • Dip strawberries in yogurt and place on lined cookie sheet or plate
  • Place in freezer long enough for yogurt to freeze-not the strawberries (about 20 minutes).
