KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Kansas City Power and Light installed solar panels at Metropolitan Community College Monday morning.
The panels were installed on a total of 18 buildings and are expected to help the school save nearly $370,000 in utility costs over the next 20 years.
The panels were free for the school and are expected to be fully operational by late fall. The project was fully funded by rebates offered through KCP&L's Solar Power Rebate Program.
The school said they plan to use the installation as part of a lesson in the classroom.
