Two teen boys transported to hospital to be treated for injuries after house fire

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Kansas City Firefighters are investigating what caused a house fire Monday morning.

The fire happened at a home near East 53rd and South Benton.

Two brothers, 17 and 18 years old, were transported to the hospital to be treated for injuries related to the fire. Relatives say both boys suffered smoke inhalation.

Relatives also said that the teenagers accidentally knocked over a candle which started a small fire in a bedroom.
