17-year-old Gladstone girl killed in car accident

CLINTON COUNTY, Mo. — A 17-year-old girl from Gladstone was killed in an accident early Tuesday morning.

Police say Anna Bishop was driving along southbound I-35 near mile marker 44 around 12:10 a.m.  when she crashed. The mile marker is six miles northeast of Lathrop.

According to the online traffic crash report, Anna’s vehicle drove across the west side of the road, hit a ditch, traveled up the embankment and rolled over several times. The 17-year-old was ejected from the vehicle. When the vehicle came to a stop it became engulfed in flames.

The report states that the teen was not wearing a safety device, and she was pronounced dead at the scene.

Anna had been driving a 2000 Nissan Maxima.

Tweets indicate Anna went to Oak Park High School.
