STILWELL, Kan. -- Besides new classmates, students at Blue Valley High School also have new practice fields to use as they head back to school on Wednesday.

Blue Valley High School, which was the original high school in the Blue Valley School District, has added new practice fields, parking lots and furniture.

"We were able to purchase a park from the county about 3,4 years ago. This was a very small site. We now have added five fields. We have fields for football, soccer and also for softball back here now and for track, field events," said Al Hanna, Interim Superintendent.

Hanna, who has been with the school district for 34 years, added that the extra space has helped the school solve a major parking problem. The school now has more than 900 parking spaces, which is 300 more than what they had last year.
