OLATHE, Kan. -- The past may have caught up with a man living hundreds of miles away from the metro.

But the distance didn't keep Johnson County prosecutors from charging that man for having sex with a child under the age of 14.

Steven Strick, 32, is charged with rape, aggravated criminal sodomy and aggravated indecent liberties with a child.

He lives in Georgia, but was arrested for the crimes on Sunday.

Court documents say the incidents happened in Johnson County in 2009, and may have continued for years.

The documents accused Strick of knowingly having sex with a child under the age of 14.

Strick's bond was set at $250,000. He remains in the detention center in Olathe. He is expected to be back in court later this month.
