KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- As kids head back to school it's important for parents to make sure they are getting nutrient-dense meals so they can feel and perform their best. Registered dietitian Lisa Markley from Whole Foods says it's important to include lots of color and protein in their meals. Lisa shared two meal ideas that will meet those requirements. Lisa says the meal options are also great for parents. There are Whole Foods locations in Overland Park and Olathe.

Meal one: 

snap peas
grapes
egg salad sandwich on whole grain bread
popcorn
yogurt

Meal two: 

baby bell peppers
apricot
low sodium turkey slices
wheat crackers
hummus
string cheese
