KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Crews are working to make repairs to a broken water main that broke early Friday morning and left roadways covered with water.

The water was shut off near 32nd and Brighton Avenue because of the break, which occurred right behind the Augustine Cameron Place Complex.

The break occurred in a  12 inch main and  caused a 20 foot by 10 foot hole. Water could be seen rushing down the hill to 31st and Linwood. Water also traveled several blocks to 31st and Van Brunt.

A witness told FOX 4 that when the break first happened the pressure was so intense that water was hitting the apartment complex, which is about 30 feet away.

Water crews say that no one is without water.

The break was reported just before 4:30 a.m.
