How to spice up school lunches without compromising healthy choices

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Being creative when making school lunches can be a difficult task for some parents. Author, spokesperson and team nutritionist for the Kansas City Royals Mitzi Dulan shared one of her favorite recipes and a few tricks she uses when creating meals for the boys in blue.

Chocolate peanut butter protein energy balls
Makes 2 dozen

Ingredients: 
1 cup oats
1/3 cup honey
1/2 cup natural peanut butter
1 cup shredded coconut
1/2 cup chocolate chips
1 scoop  whey protein powder

  Directions: 
Combine ingredients in a bowl. Refrigerate for 30 minutes. Roll into balls. Enjoy. Will last about 5 days refrigerated.
