Warrensburg police search for suspicious man accused of approaching students

WARRENSBURG, Mo. — Police in Warrensburg are warning parents and students after hearing multiple reports of a suspicious man in a red car approaching students.

Officers say the first incident happened on Sunday. A female juvenile was walking near Warrensburg Middle School when the suspect approached her and asked several question and then waited to watch her walk inside of her home.

According to officers, a second incident was reported on Tuesday with the same suspect description. Police say Tuesday’s incident happened near Anderson St., and the suspect tried to get the juvenile to come closer to his vehicle.

The suspect is described as a while male between the ages of 20 and 30 with short brown hair and short facial hair. Police believe the suspect is still driving a maroon Ford Taurus with a spoiler on the trunk and possible red brake rotators. Police also add that the vehicle appears to have some kind of sticker in the passenger rear window.
