KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Police were working multiple crime scenes on Tuesday, which were all related to a shooting incident in an area neighborhood.

After a man, who had been shot in the hip, was dropped off by a woman driving a gray Pontiac Grand Am in the lobby of Research Medical Center, police began an investigation, which turned up multiple related crime scenes.

Police believe the victim was shot at a scene located between two houses near Gregory and Olive. Police say the shooting happened around 3:45 p.m. and started as a fight between multiple females over their shared driveway, then after a man came out and got involved in the fight, officers say that is when the shooting took place. Shortly after 5 p.m. an ambulance arrived and a second man was taken away from the shooting scene. He had no visible injuries, and police would not say why that man needed possible medical attention.

About a block-and-a half away from the alleged shooting scene on Olive, police found what they believe to be the gun used in the shooting inside of a vehicle, parked behind a house near east 70th Terrace and Olive, possibly thrown through a broken-out window in a grey Cadillac.

Less than a block away, between the shooting scene and where police found the gun, officers stood guard over a heavily damaged green car, believed to possibly be involved in the incident. It was eventually towed away from the scene.

On Tuesday FOX 4’s Shannon O’Brien spoke to a neighbor, who says just three weeks ago there was another shooting which took place there.

“I’m scared, I’m really scared that I’ll be sitting on my couch, or walk out of my door and somebody gets shot, I get shot, or my family gets shot, and it’s not right. It needs to stop,” said Tanya Jones, who lives in the neighborhood.

FOX 4 also spoke to several other neighbors, all of which declined to go on camera, who said what sounded like a barrage of bullets being fired could be heard at the scene.
