Grandview man found dead near railroad tracks after witnesses say train hit him

GRANDVIEW, Mo. – Police are investigating after a man was found dead on area railroad tracks.

Shortly before 3 p.m. on Saturday, the Grandview Police Department received a call that a man had been hit by a train and was found on the railroad tracks underneath the train.

When officers responded to the scene they discovered a 43-year-old man dead on the tracks behind a strip mall, located in the 12000 block of Blue Ridge Extension.  The train believed to be involved belongs to the Kansas City Southern Railroad.

As of Saturday evening the investigation into the man’s cause of death was still ongoing.
