OVERLAND PARK, Kan. -- Royals fans are hoping for a series win on Wednesday. If that happens, even more team gear will be flying off store shelves.

Academy Sports and Outdoors in Overland Park says they’re ready with new T-shirts if the Royals clinch the series.

The boxes of the new shirts arrived on Wednesday, but have signs warning employees to not open them.

The shirts won’t go on sale until after a Royals win. The store says they will reopen their locations after the game so fans can pickup new gear and stay open until the last customer leaves, or the gear sells out.

“It's kind of fun because we have associates that don't know either and they're excited and they're going to come in, they volunteered to come in tonight, to help sell the product and get it out to all the fans,” Scott Twaddell with Academy Sports and Outdoors said.

The store also has locations in Belton, Olathe and Topeka. All four stores they have the same plan for Wednesday following the conclusion of the ALDS.
