Fleeing shoplifting suspect allegedly hits officer with vehicle in Overland Park

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. — A police officer was hurt trying to stop a shoplifting suspect, at an Overland Park Wal-Mart.

Police say the suspect hit the officer with a car, near 117th and Metcalf, while trying to get away.

The officer was taken to the hospital for minor injuries, and was later released.

The suspect was found near the store and arrested.
