Officer killed in hit-and-run crash in Overland Park

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. — Police say a part-time officer in Louisburg, Kan. died in a hit-and-run crash.

A driver hit 58-year-old David Stubbs near 123rd and Metcalf on Friday morning after running a red light.

The car turned out to be a stolen Ford Focus from Kansas City, Mo.

The driver has not been identified, but police suspect the man was drunk. Police say he tried to hide inside a nearby apartment, but officers found him.

As of Sunday night there was no word yet on charges.
