Healthy snacking alternatives for busy families

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Finding the time to create healthy snacks can be difficult for busy families. Tara Treffry with Whole Foods shared some of her favorite recipes that she says are packed with nutrients and easy to make.

On the Go Mix

Ingredients:
1 cup unsalted pumpkin seeds
1 cup dried banana chips
1 cup dried blueberries
1 cup 365 O`s cereal
1 cup chocolate chips (optional for an extra treat)

Directions:
Combine all ingredients into a large container or bag and mix. Portion into small containers or snack bags for easy travel.

Infused Water

Ingredients:
1 gallon water
one medium orange
4 strawberries
2 sprigs of mint

Directions:
Slice orange in half and then into slices. Wash strawberries and cut tops off. Pour water into a large pitcher and add strawberries, orange slices and mint. Let sit 4 hours and enjoy. This can be made in water bottles for on the go enjoyment.
