KANSAS CITY, Mo. — There’s an underwear drive that kicks off Thursday night and runs until Oct. 29, to help non-profit groups in the metro provide basic clothes for the less fortunate.

Mission Underpants aims to fulfill the demand for new underwear for those less fortunate as well as new socks, but they say they’re rarely donated.

There’s going to be a superhero costume party Thursday night, as well, at the Arts Asylum, which is just east of the downtown loop on 9th Street. Tickets are $50 each and include beer, wine, food, live music, dancing and a costume contest.

The proceeds will go towards purchasing new undergarments and new “in the package” garments will be accepted as well.
