KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Uber recently announced that they are teaming up with LiveKC to collect books for Kansas City kids.

Uber partnered with "Turn the Page" and "LiveKC" for the book drive.

On Thursday afternoon, UberBooks appeared as an option in the Uber app until 2 p.m.

Those wishing to donate could request a driver to visit their office or home to pick up books.

All donations will be delivered Thursday night to "Turn the Page".

The organization focuses on improving literacy rates in Kansas City.

"Just in the last couple years here reading in the third grade level is one of the earliest predictors of success for young children, so it's simple,” Erik Wullschleger, Live KC Director, said. “Something anybody can do. Sit in the classroom and donating books, anything like that will help that next generation prepare."
