Olathe South student taken into custody for alleged knife threat

OLATHE, Kan. — Police say a 16-year-old student at Olathe South High School threatened a security guard with a small folding knife on Friday morning, and was subsequently taken into custody. The security guard said the male student threatened him when confronted while leaving the school building.

No injuries were reported and the Olathe Police Department is investigating the case. They ask anyone who witnessed what happened or has information to contact the department at (913) 971-6950 or the TIPS Hotline at (816) 474-TIPS.
