OVERLAND PARK, Kan. -- A Johnson County woman knew it would be a big day. For the first time, she got to show off her new boutique at the annual holiday boutique in Overland Park but little did she know her family and friends had something else up their sleeve.
"It's crazy, I came in here with just the sign, and just the floor and I was like omg is this really happening? This is my little store," said Mallory Keith.
It’s been years in the making and on her birthday, Keith got to introduce her family and friends to Simply Rosy Boutique.
“It's always been a dream so it's fun,” Keith said.
The Holiday Boutique is a Johnson County tradition where dozens of booths set up shop to spread some holiday joy and it wasn’t hard to see just how much pride and joy Keith had as she shuffled through racks of her hard work.
“I have my best friends here...my boyfriend. It's great. I couldn't do it without him.”
Mallory says it’s her boyfriend John Salazar who helped her achieve this dream and little does she know, in the middle of this interview, he’s about to make another dream come true.
Her boutique’s big debut, her birthday and a proposal. A fairytale turned reality.
“It was like a puzzle piece, that happened so perfectly,” Salazar said.
“I'm really excited, I can't believe it happened...I seriously can't,” said Keith.
