KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- The Kansas City, Mo. Police Department will open the doors of the new east patrol division and crime lab on Tuesday.
The project, which took several years of planning and construction, will house nearly 130 officers.
Overall project cost nearly $70 million. A quarter-cent sales tax helped pay for the construction of the building. The project was paid for by money raised from a 2010 public safety sales tax.
The grand-opening ceremony for the building is at 3:30 p.m.
