KCMO homicide rate rises to 109

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- It’s been a deadly year on Kansas City streets and Wednesday morning detectives are investigating yet another homicide.

Police are being tight-lipped on how the homicide happened, only to say they were called to the home at 40th and Agnes around 11 p.m. Tuesday on a report of an argument or fight that ended with a deadly shooting.

When officers arrived, they found the victim suffering from gunshot wounds outside. Fire officials declared the victim dead on the scene.

Police have not released whether the victim was male or female, the age of the victim or what they believe led to the shooting, since they are in the initial stages of this investigation.

With this latest homicide, Kansas City stands at 109 for the year.If the death is the last homicide of 2015, it will end up being the third deadliest year on Kansas City streets in the past seven.
