KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- More than 3,000 balloons fell from the ceiling at Science City inside Union Station New Year's Eve, as part of a kid-friendly party geared to bringing in the 2016 as a family.

This is the third year Science CIty has hosted the event on New Year's Eve. The itinerary includes things for kids to do all day, including party-hat-making, a dance party, and tours of the science exhibits.

Staff and volunteers spent seven hours Wednesday blowing up the balloons Wednesday. FOX 4's Megan Dillard was there for the balloon release and captured the sights and sounds of families having fun bringing in 2016.
