Witnesses say SUV driver’s attempt to go around school bus ends in a crash

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The driver of an SUV was sent to a hospital following an accident that involved a school bus on Wednesday afternoon at 56th and Hardesty. There were four students on the school bus at the time, but none were injured according to FOX 4’s news crew on the scene.

According to witnesses, the bus was stopped with its lights flashing as kids were being let off, when the SUV driver attempted to go around the bus in a grassy area to the left. By the time the driver was back on the road, the bus was moving again and clipped the SUV.

The extent of the SUV driver’s injuries are unknown, but FOX 4 will continue to follow developments and provide updates as more details are released.
