Police pursue suspect to area near Cerner North Oak campus

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A significant and unusual police presence near the Cerner Oaks Campus, 3315 N Oak Trafficway, caused concern Thursday afternoon.

Cerner reportedly secured its building when a suspect fled police near the campus. One person contacted the FOX 4 newsroom and said no one was allowed to leave the building for about two hours.

According to a source, Claycomo Police were pursuing a driver who bailed out of his vehicle near 36th and Cherry and ran into the woods nearby.

He was arrested near the campus.

The pursuit started at about 12 p.m. and the arrest was made at about 1:30 p.m.

When FOX 4 spoke to them, the Clay County Sheriff’s Department did not know the reason police were pursuing the suspect.
