Multiple shootings mark violent Friday night in Kansas City

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Police were busy on Friday night as officers were sent to three separate shooting scenes in Kansas City.

At about 6:45 p.m., one person was shot and suffered life-threatening injuries near Truman and Belmont. The shooting suspect abandoned their vehicle at 8th and Bennington, and was eventually arrested.

Later, a victim arrived at Research Medical Center in critical condition after they said they were shot in the area of 43rd and Prospect. FOX 4 is awaiting more details about that victim and any possible suspects.

Officers were also at a shooting scene at 39th Terrace and Washington where one victim was found suffering critical injuries. A second victim was then found in the 3700 block of Pennsylvania from the same scene, and was taken to a hospital.

FOX 4 will provide updates on the victims' conditions and any other arrests or suspect descriptions as those details become available.
