KANSAS CITY, Kan. -- A veteran in Ohio used Facebook to find a little girl in KCK. That post was shared more than 1,000 times, and all the veteran and his family wanted to do was say thank you.

That message finally reached Ciera Agee two days later. It all started with her own thank you note for veterans across the country.

There’s a program at Kansas City Kansas Community College where kids at the daycare will write letters to veterans. Ciera didn’t know which hero would receive her card, but she knew it was important to write to them.

“How they change the lives by doing acts of kindness like this, especially with military families. We have family in the military. We know what an important job it is top serve our country,” said mom Jacquelyn Agee.

Taking the time to give thanks and spread a little kindness is a lesson Ciera says she’ll never forget.
