School bus full of students collides with SUV near 38th and Hardy

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- A school bus full of students collided with an SUV  Wednesday morning but no major injuries resulted.

The accident happened near 38th and Hardy around 7:30 a.m.

FOX 4's Matt Stewart reports that there were 24 students from Northeast Middle School on the bus at the time of the accident, but none of the students were injured.

Police on the scene say the SUV was idling along Hardy when the bus tried to drive around the SUV. According to police, the driver of the SUV noticed the bus and tried to get out of the way but steered the vehicle into the side of the bus instead of away.

The driver of the SUV has minor injuries.
