KANSAS CITY, Kan. -- In broad daylight several bullets ripped through the air, killing a man outside a KCK business. Police are now searching for the person who gunned down a young father outside Holt's Barber Shop on Friday afternoon.

Investigators tell FOX 4 that when the man walked out of the front doors, someone immediately shot and killed him.

Barber shop employees say just before 2 p.m. it was business as usual, but within minutes they say at least 10 gunshots rang out near 17th and Minnesota.

The scared and startled fathers and children inside the barber shop quickly hid and stayed inside the business. Outside, witnesses say the 21-year-old Deandre A. Scott was shot several times, collapsed on the side of the barber shop and died.

His family members showed up and were visibly upset and angry. FOX 4’s Robert Townsend was told Scott had a young child and was a regular customer.

The deadly shooting is KCK’s fourth homicide of 2016. Anyone with information for investigators should call the TIPS Hotline at (816) 474-TIPS.
