Man suspected of robbing Lee’s Summit Walgreens pharmacist at gunpoint

LEE’S SUMMIT, Mo. — Lee’s Summit Police are investigating after a man is suspected of robbing a Walgreens pharmacist at gunpoint.

Officers were dispatched to the Walgreens Pharmacy at 330 SW Ward Road around 9:45 p.m., Thursday upon reports that a man entered the store and proceeded to the pharmacy counter where he allegedly displayed a handgun as he demanded prescription medicine.

The suspect is described as a white male who was wearing dark clothing and a hooded sweat shirt.

Police say the suspect may have been driving a light-colored SUV that was in the area during the robbery.
