THE VILLAGES, Fla. — Donald Trump abruptly cancelled a Florida rally with former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin on Monday morning just minutes before it was scheduled to begin.

“The event scheduled for Governor Sarah Palin to take place today in The Villages, Florida at 12:00 PM, has been cancelled. Governor Palin wishes her best to Mr. Trump in the upcoming primaries,” Trump’s campaign said in a statement.

“Todd Palin was in a bad snow machine accident last night and is currently hospitalized. Gov. Palin is returning to Alaska to be with her husband and looks forward to being back on the campaign trail soon. Mr. Trump’s thoughts and prayers are with the Palin family at this time,” said a Trump campaign statement.

Palin’s husband Todd was reportedly hospitalized after a snowmobile crash Sunday night, and is currently in intensive care.

Trump currently holds a considerable lead in the polls over his Republican rivals in Florida. The latest poll from Monmouth University has Trump at 44 percent among GOP voters, ahead of Marco Rubio’s 27 percent, Ted Cruz at 17 percent, and John Kasich at 9 percent.
