WASHTENAW COUNTY, Mich. -- A convicted felon in Michigan tried to communicate his regret for the crimes he committed by singing to the judge at the sentencing hearing.

Brian Earl Taylor, 21, was convicted of unlawful imprisonment and carrying a concealed weapon. According to M Live, he surprised the entire courtroom when he sang his apology at the March 10 hearing. The song was a spin-off of Adele’s hit “Hello,” but instead of "hello", he repeated the word “sorry” in the chorus.

According to M Live, Taylor was sentenced to two years in prison for the concealed weapon charge and 18 months to 15 years for unlawful imprisonment.

The judge told Taylor he was a very talented young man, and she hopes he finds an appropriate was to use his talents.
