KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Finding a great and affordable gift for your children's teachers can be difficult. Fitness instructor and wellness coach Jenn Marasco shares some healthy options for Teacher Appreciation Week, which is May 1 through May 7.
Sugar Free Granola
2 Cups- Oats
1/4 cup cashews
1/4 cup almonds
1/4 sesame seeds
1 TBS cinnamon
1/4 cup of unsweetened Coconut
1/2 TSP salt
3 large egg whites
Preheat Oven 225 F
In large bowl, combine oats, nuts, seeds, cinnamon, and salt
In a mixing bow, beat egg whites into peaks, then fold egg whites into dry oat mixture.
Stir gently until dry mixture is coated
line cookie sheet with parchment paper
Turn oat and egg white mixture onto a cookie sheet
Bake for 60 mins ( Stir every 20 mins)
Almond Butter Yogurt Dip
1 cup plain greek yogurt (no sugar added)
2 TBS almond butter
1 TBS raw honey
1 ripe banana
1/2 tsp of cinnamon
Using a food processor, combine the plain greek yogurt, almond butter, honey, cinnamon, and (optional) banana.
Mix until smooth and creamy
Serve immediately as dip
2 cups of oats
2 cups of shredded unsweetened raw coconut
3/4 cup of almond butter
1/3 cup of coconut oil
1 cup of cocoa nibs
1 1/3 TSP of Flax seed (ground)
1/2 cup of raw honey
1 TBS Vanilla
Combine all ingredients (expect for coconut oil & honey)
Heat honey & coconut oil in microwave or stove top
Pour into large bowl and mix all ingredients together
using your hands create balls and place on tray
Put tray of energy bites into fridge
