Man robbed and hit with gun at Longview Lake Marina

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Police are investigating after a man was robbed and struck with a gun at Longview Lake Marina.

The victim told police he had parked to go fishing near the corner of Longview Road and Raytown Road around 4:30 p.m. on April 20. He said he was sitting in his Toyota Tacoma when he dropped his phone. When he reached down to grab it, he heard a tapping on the window.

When he looked up, he saw a the suspect — described as a black male about 5 feet 7 inches and thin, wearing a black hoodie and gloves at the time — reach down into the waste of his pants and pull out a gun. The suspect pointed a gun at the man and demanded his wallet.

The victim said with the gun pointed at his head, he froze. At that point, the suspect hit him in the face with the gun and demanded his wallet again.

The victim gave him his wallet, containing his ID and approximately $2,000 cash. The suspect then demanded the victim put his head down; he then fled the scene.

Police have not made an arrest at this time.
