KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- The superheroes are back in town, and ready to defend America. This weekend at Planet Comicon, you can become the pink Power Ranger or Chewbacca for a day. You can even find love.

In front of family, friends, superheroes, war lords, and comic book characters, Sean and Heather Englehart tied the knot.

This kicked off the start of Planet Comicon and the beginning of their life together as a married couple.

“Came here last year as a couple for the first time. We’ve been talking about marriage for the last two years, we were just waiting for the perfect time,” Sean said.

The Engleharts wanted a wedding they’ll never forget. Sean dressed in as the Marvel’s X-Men character Gambit and Heather as Rogue. Though dressed as a crime-fighting super hero, Heather wasn’t immune to the wedding day jitters

“I was okay until I walked in this morning and saw the stage. Oh my gosh I can’t breathe. But it was all worth it,” Heather said.

Storm Troopers and Iron Man stood as witnesses, as did Barbara Eden of "I Dream of Jeannie" and the Original Hulk, Lou Ferrigno.

“It was great to see them on stage because you can really tell they’re geeks. It’s a geek wedding. I enjoyed it,” Ferrigno said.

“There was a lot of love there,” Eden added.

The couple wanted to celebrate in the place they found love.

Planet Comicon is projected to bring in 60,000 people over a span of three days. That’s a $2.3 million economic impact in Kansas City.
