KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- A woman was slightly injured overnight during what police say was a random drive-by shooting.

The call first came out around 11:35 p.m., Monday that shots were fired into a second floor apartment at the Willowind Apartments near 39th and Willow.

Ten minutes later, another call came in from people living in an apartment on the first floor. That caller told police their mother had been shot in the leg from bullets that came through the window. Police say the bullet just grazed the woman on the leg and her injuries are non-life threatening. She was treated and released at the scene.

At least four units appeared to have bullet holes.

Police are now looking for the suspect vehicle. Witnesses describe the suspect vehicle as a gray Pontiac Grand Am that was seen heading west from the parking lot.
