KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- During the month of June more than 1,000 local kids will participate in Mayor Sly James' 'Turn the Page' initiative. The goal is to boost reading levels in Kansas City. Kansas City's Spirit Marketing conceptualized a new book, 'Our Home, Kansas City' for the event. The book features an owl named Sly who wears a bow tie and loves to read.  Local kids illustrator, Scott Brown, formerly of Hallmark, joined forces with Spirit Marketing to create an adorable, one-of-a-kind book.
