Mystery woman wanted for stealing checks from Blue Springs mailbox, altering and cashing them

LEE’S SUMMIT, Mo. — Police are hoping someone can help them identify a woman wanted for questioning about three checks stolen from a mailbox in Blue Springs.

The unidentified woman is accused of altering the checks and then cashing them in Blue Springs, Lee’s Summit and Roeland Park. One clerk said the woman may possibly be wearing a wig.

Police say the vehicle used in each theft is a two-tone, dark green over gray, 4-door sedan. It may be a 1996 Buick Regal Grand Sport.
