Police say death at Independence industrial park was accidental

INDEPENDENCE, Mo. — Independence police conducting a death investigation have determined on Sunday that the victim’s death was accidental.

The Independence Police Department said via their Facebook page that a 58-year-old male was discovered dead at the Allis Chalmers Industrial Park Sunday morning.

Investigators said his death appeared to be accidental, “resulting from a fall.”

Shortly after 11:00 am this morning, Independence Police responded on a medical call at the Allis Chalmers Industrial Park, 604 W. Linden Ave.

After arriving at the business, Officers located a 58 year-old male, deceased. The preliminary investigation revealed the deceased was an employee of one of the businesses inside the facility. His death appeared to be accidental, resulting from a fall.

At this time, there is no longer an active scene at the business, and the incident is still under investigation.

The identity of the deceased male is being withheld until his family can be notified.
