Independence police investigating shooting at Days Inn Motel

INDEPENDENCE, Mo. -- Independence police are investigating a shooting Wednesday morning.

Independence police dispatcher says the shooting happened around 5:11 a.m., in the  13700 block of E. 42nd Terrace at the Days Inn Motel.

Police could also be seen at 7 a.m., going door to door at the America's Best Value Inn, which is next to the Days Inn.

The victim's injuries have been classified as non life-threatening.

FOX 4's Kim Byrnes reports seeing one man being taken away in handcuffs.

Investigators are still trying to determine what led up to the shooting.
